Central Time is the baseline for every recurring live family session. The Family Recovery Foundation publishes Central and Pacific hours for each program, and this virtual family therapy time zones guide adds Eastern and Mountain conversions so you can pick a real local start time, register once, and join from home. No insurance is required.

Virtual family therapy time zones at a glance

Treat the Central Time listing as the baseline. Each program appears in Central and Pacific, and the table below fills in Eastern and Mountain for planning.

These conversions cover Eastern, Central, Mountain, and Pacific places that follow the standard U.S. clock-change schedule. Confirm your current local time through the official U.S. time service.

A family in New York joins Fix Your Family at 8:00 PM on Monday. Someone in Colorado joins at 6:00 PM. A participant in California joins at 5:00 PM.

If your registration confirmation shows a different hour than this table, use the confirmation. Schedules can shift, and that email holds the session time and link you actually need.

Check once. Then save the link.

Alaska stays three hours behind Central Time

Most of Alaska stays three hours behind Central Time. Most of Arizona and all of Hawaii skip the national clock change, so their gap from Central Time shifts during the year.

In the Arizona and Hawaii columns below, the first time applies while Central Time is on daylight time. The second applies while Central Time is on standard time.

Local exceptions still exist. People in Arizona, Alaska, Hawaii, and other areas that handle clock changes differently should read the confirmation email before each session. The National Institute of Standards and Technology explains how daylight saving time affects U.S. time zones.

Add the session to your calendar using the time shown in your confirmation email. Put the time zone in the event title so a conversion error is obvious before the meeting starts.

Free online programs and weekly hours

Pick the program by the kind of support you need and the hour you can keep. Facilitators and certified counselors lead the live sessions. Formats differ.

Fix Your Family meets every Monday at 7:00 PM Central and 5:00 PM Pacific. The structured hour covers communication strategies, healthy boundaries, and conflict resolution. It is the Foundation’s national signature program.

The Family Room meets every Friday at 10:00 AM Central and 8:00 AM Pacific. The open format gives family members room to share experiences, ask questions, and hear from peer advocates who have lived with a loved one’s substance use disorder.

Morning Meditation is a 15-minute guided practice, Monday through Friday, at 9:00 AM Central and 7:00 AM Pacific. It suits anyone who wants a short, steady practice before work or other daytime demands.

The Courage to Detach meets on the last Wednesday of each month at 5:00 PM Central and 3:00 PM Pacific. The workshop focuses on loving a person without enabling substance use, setting boundaries with care, and protecting your own wellbeing.

One-on-one family coaching is available by appointment. Use it when no recurring group time works or your family needs direct help building a recovery plan. The Foundation also offers on-demand family education and a private family messaging group.

Choose the format you will actually attend.

Registration steps for free sessions

Open the free virtual family therapy hub or the Family Programming page on tfrfoundation.org, choose a program, and submit the registration form. Registration is free nationwide. You do not need insurance.

Select the weekly session, monthly workshop, or one-on-one coaching option that fits. Convert the published Central or Pacific time with the tables above. Complete the form with basic contact details and state if the support is for you or for a loved one. Watch for a confirmation email with the current session time and link. Save that link and add the meeting to your calendar with the correct time zone.

The online contact form is not HIPAA compliant, and The Family Recovery Foundation states that before you submit. Share enough for the team to reach you. Leave detailed health history out of the form.

If you want registration guidance or do not receive your session information, call 888-964-8825. A real person answers every day.

Before your first meeting, match the email time against your calendar entry. Test your internet connection and keep the session link where you can open it fast. Headphones give more privacy when other people are nearby.

Crisis and treatment services when family support is not enough

Use emergency or crisis services if someone faces immediate danger, may harm themselves or another person, or needs urgent medical care. The Family Recovery Foundation provides ongoing family support. It does not run a crisis hotline, residential treatment center, or detox program.

Call or text the [988 Suicide & Crisis Lifeline](https://988lifeline.org/) during a mental health, suicide, or substance use crisis. Call [911](https://www.911.gov/) if there is immediate danger or a medical emergency.

Families seeking treatment may apply through The Family Recovery Foundation for financial aid. Application-based assistance may help with residential, outpatient, or detox care, and with professional intervention services. The Foundation helps families reach outside care. It does not provide those treatment services itself.
